The Inca Trail to Machupicchu is the best route (45 km). The natural setting is impressive with views of mountains, snow-capped mountains, cloud forests, great flora and fauna and impressive archaeological groups, it is an unforgettable experience. It is the most famous hike in South America.
We pick you up from your accommodation at 5:30 a.m. and then take you by bus to our first destination, the beginning of our adventure, we will pass through a high part of the city where you will be able to appreciate beautiful views of some snow-capped peaks that are in this area, in addition to the local people who are already starting their daily activities. After an hour and a half of travel we will stop in Ollantaytambo (Inca town located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas).
In this place you will have free time of 10 to 15 minutes to make the last purchases, then we will continue our trip until we reach Km. 82 (Piscacuchu), we will arrive mid-morning where we will meet all the staff who will accompany us (Porters, Cooks, helpers), in this place we will pass the first checkpoint on the road and the bridge that will let us know that we are already on the road, we will begin to walk near the bank of the Vilcanota River, these first kilometers will be easy and with beautiful scenery, where we will be able to a beautiful view of the VERONICA snow-capped mountain until we reach a high point where we will find the first Patallaqta archaeological center where we will have lunch to recover our energy, after receiving information from our guide we will continue our route until we reach Wayllabamba where we will rest this first night.
After breakfast, we continue with our walk, this day for many the most difficult, as we will ascend to the highest point of the Warmiwañusca route (4200 meters above sea level). First we will begin to climb through an area with a lot of typical vegetation, where we will also find many stairs that cross the mountain, these that we will have to use to reach the pass, after having climbed for about four hours we will reach Warmiwañusca, the highest pass on this route.
Here we will have an impressive view of this Valley, then we will descend until we reach our second camp and we will be able to rest the second night.
After breakfast, we begin to walk very early, ascending first where we will remember the walk of the previous day, since it will be about an hour of climbing, on the route we will find the archaeological center of Runkuraqay, an archaeological zone with beautiful views of the Pacaymayu Valley, then We will continue and after passing the second step we will arrive at Sayacmarca, one of the largest archaeological remains of the Inca trail, where we will have lunch; We immediately continued our walk descending through Phuyupatamarca, to finally reach Wiñaywayna.
After breakfast, very early we continue walking until we reach Inti Punku or Gate of the Sun, entrance to the wonderful citadel of Machupicchu. Upon arrival we will descend to the main gate to be able to leave our backpacks, use toilet services and freshen up, then we will enter to carry out the Guided tour, this will last approximately two hours and then you will have free time to visit the citadel on your own. Then we will have to descend to Aguas Calientes (town of Machupicchu) where you will have free time for lunch.
In the afternoon we will take the train to return to Ollantaytambo and from there we will pick you up to bring you back by bus to Cusco.
