The Sacred Valley of the Incas is formed by numerous rivers that descend through ravines and small valleys; It has numerous archaeological attractions and native towns.
This valley was highly appreciated by the Incas due to its special geographical and climatic qualities. It was one of the main production points due to the richness of its lands and the place where the best corn grain in Peru and the world is produced.
On this incredible tour you will be able to visit the most popular archaeological centers that the Sacred Valley of the Incas offers us, such as Ollantaytambo, Pisaq, Maras, among others.
One of the reasons why Pisaq has a lot of tourist fame is because of its Andean artisan market; Only a few years ago native people still carried out “barter”, exchanging products. Currently we can find different souvenirs made manually, we will also visit an artisan workshop where they carry out work in pure silver. We also recommend trying the chicken or cheese “empanadas” cooked in colonial ovens.
Typical Pisaq market
Our bus will take us to the upper part of the archaeological complex of Pisac where we will appreciate many agricultural terraces, 04 very well distributed Inca neighborhoods, in addition to one of the largest cemeteries in SOUTH AMERICA with more than 3,000 tombs. Our guide will give us an explanation of the importance of the place in Inca times and why our ancestors built agricultural terraces in this way. Finally we will have free time to enjoy the landscape and capture souvenir photographs.
This is the only living Inca town that still exists in our society surrounded by different Apus (protective mountains) that protect this impressive complex of platforms that in its time was for agricultural, religious and support use, in addition to observing the important temple of the Sun. Built with large stones in the upper part of the archaeological complex.
Chinchero is well known due to its Colonial church decorated with fresco mural painting and the “Paqarinas” of its archaeological site. They also have Andean communities which still maintain the custom of weaving their cloaks in an ancestral way and painting them with natural dyes.
Once the tour is over (the return trip will take approximately 2 hours) it is advisable to take advantage of this time to take photos of the sunset from the comfort of your seat. We will arrive in Cusco averaging 6:30 pm-7:00 pm.
